....................... . . . Wrath of Denethenor . . . . Docs/Hints/Help . . . . By: Death Master . . . . Date: Dec 29, 1986 . ....................... The following is an introduction of Wrath of Denethenor. The stage is set for a classic contest between good and evil: Lord Denethenor has abandoned his oath and turned against the good people of Deledain. After learning of the Magi powers, Denethenor used them both covertly and sadistically to further his needs. Many fled from this new demoniac oppression to the protection of Lord Solrain, Lord Mirrih, and Lord Estrine. But the Lords of Nisondel, Cestiona, and Arveduin have not the ability to provide this sanctuary. Now cysestons, worgrecs, klinkens, demons, crachens and all beasts derived from black magic freely terrorize the lands of Deledain accompanied by their human counter- parts: corsairs, warriors, and disciples of Lord Denethenor. And the most feared creature of all is the winged dreyx -- so close to the personality of its creator that it attacks all but its own kind. Most of the inhabitants will aid you in your admirable quest -- but beware. Not all are kind-hearted. Some will deceive you, for an unknown number of the residents are secret disciples working from within. The Lords have attempted to remove this infestation, many are now prisoners, but this task has proved difficult. Take heart that in his destruction, surely all of his curse shall be removed. You have the opportunity to confront him -- but don't be careless. Denethenor will not stand idle waiting for potential assassins. He has great powers but he is, or at most once was, human. If he should learn of your quest, he will pursue you. And, you must believe, his wrath will reveal no compassion. If you hate watching the long title page, just press esc any time when its going and it will switch to the selection screen. Here are a listing of all spells, you must type (S)peak then the following. -(T)elicanre , (T)orch Self explanatory -(S)pecere , (S)croll This is to see the map of continent or dungeon(not castles, towns or outposts) -(M)onsrol , (P)endant This will freeze the screen -(I)nslerete , (D)ust This will make you invisible but not protected! This lasts for a very short time -(R)esonim , No item required This will take down demon forcefields for a short period of time -(W)ethrir , No item required This will toss a blast(fireball) at a monster or whatever. This takes off from stamina and hit points -(L)ethren , No item required This tosses another blast(lighting bolt) which will instantly kill the monster or human. It takes off alot of stamina and hit points. How can you build up your charcater? - You can fight monster after monster and hope for weapons, armor or spells. - I suggest after getting enough pendents and charms to go to the castle and take money from the safe. You must have about 2000 H.P. and about 1000 stamina. Go in and attack the guard guarding the safe then cast charm, steal all the gold(make sure theres about 10 chests or what a waste.) Guards will probably be outside so cast charm to wait in the doorway and attack the first guard until your magic power is back then cast pendent. Kill the guard(s) in your way and you may even want to cast silver dust to go invisible to leave. I don't recommend coming back after this. - Another place to get gold is the labrynth. You must have a few torches to start and you will find more and other goodies. How to gain more intelligence. You must go and see the kings Solrah, Mirrih, and Estriche. They give you about 5 intelligence for spells. I suggest doing this before attacking the castle if you do. Towns, castles, outposts - Backwoods - this a very good place to get rid of any found or extra goods at the trading post. If you go to the bottom of left, there is someone who will tell you telicanre. It is located in a door and follow the small path. - Castle of Solrain - he will give you wisdom and there is alot of gold in the safe - Dry Gulch - I recommend coming here when low on hit points. If you have 2 charms then you will be able to get hit points cheap! Go to where they sell food, go all the way in the room and there will be located in the upper right area. Use a charm to get in. Follow the path around, behind the food door and down. Here will be a few houses and people. Go all the way down past the houses and left across the bridge and up and use a charm for the first door on the right. Converse with the Priest and he will ask you if you want hit points for 50 gp. Type yes and you will get about 1100 hp for every 50 until you reach about 4500 hp then he will say your in fine health. Then follow the same steps backwards. The next door up is where more clerics are but none say much. Here is a diagram. This not exactly he same size. oooooooo ----- oo - - oo flag ------------------- --- oo continued* oooooooooo --- ------- - ----- - - down here- - leads to - - the door - - ooo oo ooooo ----------- - - ------------------------```-- - door - - * - - - ----------------------------- - - food- more food- - - ------------------ - - -----```-- - - - - ------- - - - - - - houses houses -=-=-=-=-= * Bridge -=-=-=-=-= ooooooooooooooooo 0000000000000 oooooooooooooo --------- -- --- - - ` Other priests - - ` - - ------------------------- - - - -------------------------- - ` - - ` Priest who heals - - - - - -------------------------- - - - - continued from bridge I hope this helps you find him. I have been in the Hole and there is a pretty good amount of gold. It is pretty hard because of many hard creatures. You must have a good amount of H.P's, stamina, and spells. - Mount Karibae is a good place to buy torches cheap. In the bottom left of the corner is a shop which sells them for 25 for 75 gp. If you go into the pub, do not talk to the people if you don't want everyone attacking you. If when it says do you want to buy for the house and you say yes then you will be able to talk to them and get info. - Lake Fioria is a town which in the upper part is condos and the lower part is a mall - Deladain penetarium - here is where many prisoners are kept in cell blocks, death row, solitary confinement, and rehabilitation. - Lord Mirrih's castle - this has alot of gold. It is also where you can take a boat. - Pescaria - is right underneath the labrynth you get out of at the beginning of the game. Here boats are available to take. - Mt. Restorn - this is very large and am not able to find the other exit. - Castle Drawn - this on the outside is shaped of an outpost. Inside it is hoxagoganal. There are many wizards to kill but if you finally do make it to the priests it turns out to be a waste. The magic users have some time of spell when you kill them they re-apear. These are all I can remember out of memory, there may some I forget. I have gotten up to Mt. Restorn and looking for a way out. If you need any Info or help, leave mail to The Key on any boards that he is on and I will try to help. I hope this file will help you out as much as possible. -DM
